This cold December morning, by special invitation, I went to the back side of Joshua Tree, to some privately owned land. Three of my guy friends, Shad (the owner of the land), Chuck and Scott ventured out with me on the photographic excursion. We saw a spectacular sunrise, an old, abandoned chevy truck and some of the most amazing back country the hi-desert has to offer. Here are a few of my images

This is the an image from a new collection I’m currently shooting during the “Super Moon” that is happening right now in Joshua Tree National Park.
The collection is called “Joshua Tree by Moonlight” and right now, since the moon is closer to the Earth than it will be anytime this year, is the perfect time to go out and shoot these images.
Here is a taste of the show. A group of climbers standing around their campfire in the beginnings of the night talking about their days exploits on the cliffs behind them. This scene lit entirely by moonlight and the glow of their campfire.

This July 4th, after the fire works, I was able to take advantage of the new moon. In pitch darkness, lead only by the light of flashlight I ventured out into the park where I found the Milky Way Galaxy rising overhead. Here is one of the images I captured.

My friend Steve and I set out to do some photography and decided instead of going out of town for a day we would learn to do focus stacking. Here is our first lesson and boy did it taste good when we were done!
