Another Beautiful Sunset in Joshua Tree

I went out into the park to scout a location for some macro photography of the blooming cactus flowers and decided I’d stay for the sunset.  Here are a couple of the HDR images from the early evening.

The Dead Wood Project: The Living and the Dead

Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-105mm f/4 L @ f/18, 24mm, 1/50 sec., ISO 200, 02/26/16 @ 16:49 local time

This is an image that started out as a part of the ‘Dead Wood Project’, but turned into a whole new image as I looked further to the surrounding Joshua Tree landscape.  This is a stitched image containing 12 frames displaying juxtaposed nature, the living Juniper, hidden by the rock formation and the dead standing tall on the top.
