This female humming bird was busily building her nest on this mid February afternoon next to a path in the Phoenix Botanical Gardens.
After an extended stay in California I finally made it back to Arizona for a weekend and visited one of my favorite photography haunts, Desert Botanical Garden. I mainly went to shoot humming birds and a butterfly or two if I could find one this time of winter, but this Curve-bill Thrasher wouldn’t leave me alone. He just had to know exactly what I was doing, so I took a few frames as he posed.
This Juniper tree stands at the edge of the Grand Canyon greeting visitors as they look over this wonder of the world. The clouds above gather creating this exquisite display of the vast canyon below.
This hummingbird was captured at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens feeding on the open flowers while flying. She hung round for several minutes attracting much attention of the guests of the Garden while she got her breakfast.
